Sundeep Vintners
have launched Maybach Indian wines in collaboration
with their European partners Maybach whose wines they
have been importing for four years. The company produces
the Mahrashtra staple, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz,
Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. It has also tied
up with a winery in Baramati region.
Wine experts from Maybach had visited
earlier to select the grapes and set the specifications.
The entire project has been completed
with an investment of approximately Rs 50 lakhs ($120,000).
The company aims to enter the Indian market with an
average pricing of Rs 350-390 ($9-10) a bottle, slightly
lower than the equivalent wines available in the market
right now.
Karan Nevatia, director of Sundeep
Vintners adds, "We are also looking at exporting
the wines, especially to overseas Indian restaurants
which have high demand for Indian-made wines."
According to him the product is available already
at 120 stores.
Apart from the corporate market,
the company is also looking at promoting their product
for corporate gifting purposes with customised labels.
The company is also looking at long-term tie-ups with
hotel chains and workshops to create brand awareness
about the product.
Apart from Maybach Sundeep also imports
wines from Boisset , Ginestet and , Trimbach among
other labels.
