Pio Cesare officially enters India

PIO CESARE DOCG wines from Piedmont are officially available in India now through Sovereign Impex. In the first phase, Barolo 2002, Barbaresco 2002, and Gavi 2005 will be available. They are on sale from  December 01st 2006 onwards in restaurants in Mumbai and New Delhi, with price options of Duty Free or Duty Paid

Pio Cesare, one of the finest wineries in Piedmont, was founded in 1881. The winery is recognized for its elegant, big, traditionally styled red wines, and for its more modern, refined whites. Pio Boffa, grandson of the founder, heads the winery today and is credited with creating wines in Pio Cesare's traditional style that appeal to the modern palate.

Sovereign Impex now represents 4 of the Instituto Grandi Marchi wineries ( Institute of Fine Italian Wineries ) - Mastroberardino ( Campania ), Pio Cesare (Piemonte), Lungarotti ( Umbria ), and Folonari ( Tuscany ).
