A wine event does not always have to be a sit down 5-course dinner in a fancy restaurant as members of Delhi Wine Club (Mumbai) discovered last week when we organised a wine evening on March 14 at the Spa at JW Marriott Hotel in Mumbai, writes Bindu Malhotra, President of the club.
 Terroir One members were treated to a very special evening ....a unique setting at the family lounge of J W Marriott along with spa foot and shoulder massages combined with delicious Italian wines at the 5th event since we formed the Club in November 2009.
We always wanted to organise a wine event at the spa-one of the out-of-box ideas for mumbaikers. Therefore, for the March event, we decided to have a de-stressing evening with quaffable wines.There could not be a better way to enjoy wines on a relaxed Sunday evening than at an ambience filled with lit candles, orchids and pampering by the very efficient team of Qua spa!!
All keenly discussing the wines, 30 members and a few select guests had an experience they will savour for long. Three wines-Pinot Grigio, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Lambrusco were served. Lambrusco Emilia IGT Amabite due to its fruity and sweeter style was appreciated by almost everyone, especially by lady members andwas acclaimed by them as the perfect spa wine.
The wines for the evening were from Aspri Spirits Pvt Ltd., arranged by Mr Sumedh Singh Mandla. Sumedh was there for the evening imparting wine knowledge to members who were keenly inquiring about the wines served and their availability. Aspri is one of the leading beverage companies in Mumbai and has a wine division including Vinspri Distributors Pvt Ltd, Dentos India etc.
 The evening was certainly special also because of the excellent food pairing with the wines.
All members were pampered further as they went home with gift hampers- free massage n spa use coupons from Qua Spa at the hotel.
One felt in those moments that theere could not be any better and more ralaxing way to enjoy wines, than in a spa! And it is evev more enjoyable if it is Qua!!
